This story is not about me. It's about my father while he was hunting in the woods of Missouri. He was barely in his forties at the time of the incident. At this time I was 8 or 10 when we lived in Missouri.  He didnt tell me this story until I was 14 or 15 years old. He was hunting on a hunting reserve near the military base.  My father was in the military for almost 20 years so nothing scares this man very often. So it was a normal day. The animals and everything was lively . He sat in the area were he had scouted out to hunt in. He was there for a good maybe two hours and then he noticed that all of the birds and little critters were dead silent. He knew this was odd because the woods were almost never silent. Then he heard a little voice in his head that told him to leave now. He disregarded the voice and just kept sitting there. Now almost any hunter would tell you that if the woods are completely silent then you need to leave. My father knew this too ,but he wanted a deer so he waited for a little while longer. Then off in the distance he heard ,whoop whoop. He found this extremely weird considering no know animal makes this sound. So he decided to whoop back. As soon as he did the hairs on his neck stood up and everything in him told him to leave. So he grabbed everything and took off. He says he didnt see whatever made that noise ,but did hear foot steps other then his own in the silent forest of Missouri.
