I am a 11 year old girl and this happened when I was 9. I was with my little sister and my cat in our back yard. At the time my sister was only 3 and was scared of pretty much every thing. I had a stick in my hands and was swinging it around when I heard it.

It sounded like footsteps. Coming closer and closer to where my sister and I were playing.  My sister heard it to and was freaking out. My cat however was standing next to me, its  hackles raised and was hissing. I heard my sister scream. I looked behind me, and she was gone. My sister was gone.

I started hyperventilating and grabbed my stick. I knew about the Wendigo at that time and I knew that was what had taken my sister. I heard my sister screaming for help. I ran off trying to find and save my sister. I came up to the old abounded house about 200 yards away from my house. I picked up my home made slingshot and searched for my sister.

Then I saw it a huge creature with antlers and a human-like body. It was holding my sister like a baby with one and was  reaching for me with the other. Then the thing spoke

"I will be back" it had said in a horrific voice.

It dropped my sister and walked away. A few moments later my instincts kicked in and I ran to my sister. She was OK except for a few scratches. We walked home and never spoke until we came back to our house where our cat was waiting. This is the end of my story, but always fear the Wendigo, for it is always watching, and waiting for a child to be its next meal.

Never fear it. if you don't fear it, it is just a weak old thing that hides its true self to gain anything.

Why did it take the smallest one first? If wendigo eats people and you were both children, why not take the big child? A three year old seems really small for something famous for eating big strong warriors. And why did it give her back? Since it was big and you were both small, why wouldn't it just...eat both of you before taking your parents? I don't understand.
