This was a long time ago, when I was around 10. I don't remember much of what happened but bear with me as I try to recall the details. My family and I had just moved into a new house after living in Duluth Minnesota for 10 years and it was our first full week of not having anything to unpack, so I let myself rest easy and went to get ready for  bed early.

Now at the time my two sisters and I slept in the basement, it was a furnished basement so it was relatively nice, but there was one part that I just didn't like and that was the utility room. It was in the basement and no one ever really went in there because it was always dark and had an eerie sensation to it.

Well I found myself having to do laundry before I went to bed, so I had to go in there. I grabbed by basket of dirty clothes and brought them in the room. I dumped them in the washing machine and started the water. When I reached for the soap I felt a chill pass down my spine and saw a black flash out of the corner of my eye. I turned around to look and of course nothing was there. I finished up quickly and got out of there closing the door firmly behind me.

So fast forward to the middle of the night and I wake up the first thing I realize is that I can't move, I frantically use my eyes to try and look around but all I see is a dark room and the clock that reads 2:30 Am. Suddenly I feal a presence, my eyes carry me to the laundry room door and its wide open.

I then see a dark figure looming over my sister who was six at the time, just staring at her. It looks up and slowly comes towards me, it has inhumanly long arms and legs and its head just had white dots for eyes. It gets to my bed and looks down at me and just stares, it then begins to reach for me, I close my eyes and pray that it goes away, then all I feel is a warm fuzziness in my body and my eyes fly open.

I can move again and sit up frantically sweating everywhere I bring my eyes to the laundry room door and its closed shut, just like I had left it, and the time is 4:00 in the morning. I passed it off as a crazy dream but now I feel differently, the amount of realness I felt that night, and the fear that came along with it just had to be true, I just really hope it never happens again.
